Reinterpretation of Taeyang disease(÷¼åÕÜ») in "Shanghanlun(ß¿ùÎÖå)" Based on the Pathologic Perspective of Sasang Constitutional Medicine

Abstract

|
Objectives: Purpose of this paper is to study the reinterpretation of Taeyang disease(÷¼åÕÜ») in "Shanghanlun(ß¿ùÎÖå)" based on the pathologic perspective of Sa-sang Constitutional Medicine by comparing factors as pathologic mechanisms, clinical symptoms, and remedies.
Methods: The texts referred to pathologic mechanisms, clinical symptoms, and remedies of Taeyang disease(÷¼åÕÜ») described in "Donguisusebowon Gabobon(ÔÔì¢áøá¦ÜÁêª Ë£çíÜâ)", "Donguisusebowon Sinchookbon(ÔÔì¢áøá¦ÜÁêª ãôõäÜâ)", and Shanghanlun(ß¿ùÎÖå)" in "Donguibogam(ÔÔì¢ÜÄÊü)" were analysed.
Results and Conclusions : 1) Early phase of Ulgwang symptomatic pattern(ê¦ÎÊñû ôøñû) and of Mangyang symptomatic pattern(ØÌåÕñûôøñû) of Kidney Heat-based Exterior Heat disease(ãìáôæðøúæðÜ»), a category of Soeumin(á´ëäìÑ) diseases, were described by adopting pathologic models of Taeyang-sangpung symptomatic pattern(÷¼åÕß¿ù¦ñû) and Sanghan-hyeol symptomatic pattern(ß¿ùÎúìñû) from "Sanghanlun(ß¿ùÎÖå)". 2) Soyang-sangpung symptomatic pattern(á´åÕß¿ù¦ñû) of Spleen Cold-based Exterior Cold diseae (Þ¡áôùÎøúùÎÜ») and Hyunggyeok-yeol symptomatic pattern(ýØÌ®æðñû) of Stomach Heat-based Interior Heat disease(êÖáôæð×êæðÜ»), categories of Soyangin(á´åÕìÑ) diseases, were described by adopting pathologic models of Taeyang-yangsangpunghan symptomatic pattern(÷¼åÕå»ß¿ù¦ùÎñû), Soyang-sangpung symptomatic pattern(á´åÕß¿ù¦ñû) and Tayangbyong-sahak symptomatic pattern(÷¼åÕÜ»ÞÄ?ñû) from "Sanghanlun(ß¿ùÎÖå)". 3) Baechu-pyo symptomatic pattern(ÛÎ?øúÜ»Ìîñû) and Hangual symptomatic pattern(ùÎÏðñû) of Esophagus Cold-based Exterior Cold disease(êÖèÒáôùÎøúùÎÜ»), a category of Taeeumin(÷¼ëäìÑ) diseases, was described by adopting pathologic models of Taeyang-sanghan symptomatic pattern(÷¼åÕß¿ùÎñû) and Hangual symptomatic pattern(ùÎÏðñû) from "Sanghanlun(ß¿ùÎÖå)". 4) Je-Ma Lee reinterpreted various diseases classified as Taeyang disease(÷¼åÕÜ») with the pathologic perspective of Sa-sang Constitutional Medicine. Different from existing medicine, diseases were analysed and treated by the standard, constitution of the patient.
